The latest Blizzard first-person shooting game is taking the gaming world by storm. It is not surprising. There are legions of fans even before the game's release.

It has a cast of diverse characters

The developers really took an effort to make the cast as diverse as possible. "Overwatch" does not rely on stereotypes. It is refreshing to see a game where the 21 heroes are well-thought: 10 males, eight females, two robots and one animal.

It is for fans of shooter-type games

The game is inspired from modern shooters. It takes from games such as "Call of Duty" and "Battlefield". However, it does not take inspiration from just this era of shooter games. It also honors past shooter games such as "Quake", "Doom", Unreal" and "Tribes".

Power progression of the characters is for hardcore and casual gamers alike

The developers promise a game that would please both casual and hardcore players. The progression system allows the player to collect loots after every completion of a level. Jeffrey Kaplan, one of the game's directors told Time, "Both the hardcore and casual were very pleased that we took power progression away and moved to a more cosmetic system."

It tells a story about a more optimistic near future

The setting and art style of the game are shown in a very optimistic science fiction way. The "Warcraft" and "Diablo" worlds have been very dark. This one shows a story in the near future of planet earth. It is not in gray, brown colors just like earlier Blizzard games. It is in deep rich colors that would make the gamers face the game with positivity.

It is developed by Blizzard (Doh)

Not to sound like an advertising machine of the Blizzard Entertainment but ever since it is founded in 1991, it has developed a lot of successful products: "Starcraft", "Warcraft", "Diablo" and "Heroes of the Storm". It is expected that Blizzard would incorporate the same kind of gaming quality with "Overwatch". Even before its release, it has amassed a lot of fans online.
