Jessica Simpson's two-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew celebrated Independence Day on Wednesday, alongside her mom and her dad, Eric Johnson. Simpson and Johnson have been engaged since 2010.

According to the People website, the new mom, 31, posted a photo of her family -- with a firework as the background -- on Twitter Thursday night and wrote, "Hope everyone had a great 4th!"

Since welcoming baby Maxwell, her first child with her fiancé, on May 1, Simpson told the magazine that "life has completely changed." In the May issue of People, Simpson said, "From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything."

Not everything about new motherhood is bliss, however. Simpson admits, "After you have your baby it's like, 'Oh my God, what happened to my body?' This is not me." Yahoo's OMG blog is reporting that, she's partnered with Weight Watchers to help her lose the baby weight. She's started juicing and loading up on veggies and proteins "It would be nice to feel comfortable in a bikini, but that's not my goal," she said. "I just want to fit into jeans!"

While Simpson is taking longer than other Hollywood moms to shed her post-pregnancy pounds, there's at least one woman who has her back. Former Playmate and current reality television star, Kendra Wilkinson -- who's son with professional football player Hank Baskett is approximately 2 years old -- defended Simpson from criticism to the OMG blog. "I feel for her," she said. "I was in the same boat. People just need to mind their own business. That's a woman who just gave birth. Her first priority right now is her child. Her first priority is not losing the weight. You should be proud of her for that. A lot of people just dump their kids off at nannies and lose the weight overnight. We should all be proud of her for being real and taking control and making priorities."
