Well, it seems like 'Good Wife' stars Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi didn't really have genuine closure both on and offscreen. The two small screen actresses appeared to have shot the finale season separately and many sources claim the main reason for this is they are not on good terms.

After almost two seasons (years) of not being seen together on the show, Margulies' Alicia and Panjabi's Kalinda finally had a reunion in the finale of the sixth season last week.

While fans were truly glad that the former BFFs finally got the chance to reunite and rekindle their friendship, it wasn't really a happy ending in the wake of Panjabi's final appearance on the series.

Unbeknownst to fans, Margulies and Panjabi didn't have the courage to shoot the finale scene together because of the alleged tension between them such that the people behind the show enlisted doubles to carry out the heart-warming scene.

"Body doubles were employed for the single shots, and the two-shot was spliced together in post-production," TVLine wrote of the rift between Julianna and Archie.

It can be noted that Panjabi formally announced in October that she's departing from the legal drama after the sixth season. It wasn't only because she's having trouble dealing with Margulies but also because she's set to star on her own show by 20th Century Fox TV.

After her announcement, shows fans were compelled to believe that their characters on 'The Good Wife' would finally get to talk before Panajabi's departure.

"I think we stumbled into part of a good idea, which was the longer they were apart, the more the audience wanted to see them together," co-creator Robert King said at the time. "People noticed after a while and there was an urge, this hunger. I think that's always a good thing. But that wasn't the intent. The intent was after the revelation of Kalinda sleeping with Peter. I think we all - the actresses, the writers - felt like we were trying to get over that problem too easily in Season 3."

In the series, the former BFFs had a falling out when Alicia discovered that her philandering politician husband played by Chris North was having an affair with Kalinda. In real life, the reason behind Margulies and Panjabi's rift hasn't been revealed yet, reports Us Weekly.

CBS has declined to comment on why the two actors shot the supposedly meaningful scene separately. Margulies and Panjabi are also mum on the issue.

Check out the finale scene below and notice how the lighting seemed to change throughout the clip. Also, according to Hollywood Take, it's pretty obvious that they weren't in the same room when the scene was shot.
