To make her new concert documentary, "Katy Perry: Part of Me," singing sensation Katy Perry used $2 million of her own money. It was something of a risk, especially filming her November 2011 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in 3D. As MTV's website reports, however, Perry stuck to her guns when talking to her business manager. "I was like, 'Please trust me,'" she said she told him. "That's kind of been the mantra I've said to everyone my whole life: 'Trust me, I have a vision.'"

Perry's vision for the movie included documenting the demise of her relationship with Russell Brand while her career simultaneously took off with a record-breaking string of hit singles from Teenage Dream. She wanted the film to be like her song writing -- honest. "Honesty has always worked for me," she said. "So if it ain't broke, why... fix it?" Even honesty has its limits, though, and there are some things that she won't talk about. Perry won't disclose the details of her failed marriage to the British comedian / film star because she doesn't think anyone will truly understand. "Nobody knows what really happened except the two people who are in it," she told the Hollywood Reporter

The singer and her team are expecting the movie to have a similar opening weekend to the Justin Bieber concert documentary, titled "Never Say Never." Bieber's movie grossed an estimated $30 million its first weekend in theaters. Yet, the movie isn't the only ambition Katy Pery has for the future. The 27-year-old popstar said she wants to launch her own record company. Though the company doesn't have a name yet, it does have a mission. "When it does come to fruition," she said, "I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success."
