Asian Carp Attack - Early Friday morning, the Washington University in St. Louis freshman men's rowing team experienced an unexpected scene with a swarm of Asian carp. The Asian Carp attack occurred as swarm flew out of the water and seemingly attacked, or to be more specific, slapped them in the face.

The team was blindsided by the swarm of Asian Carp during their practice at the Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights, Missouri. No one was ready for the Asian Carp attack.

At first, the team was rowing under a bridge, apparently unknowingly entering into the lair of the carp. The Asian Carp started slowly. Only a few fish were leaping towards the rowing team here and there.

However, it was only moments until the scene turned to chaos. The Asian Carp attack video shows some of the fish even going into the rowing team's boat.

"The fish was flopping on my legs. It was so slippery that I couldn't get a grip on it," said team member Devin Patel.

"Yoni, get it off me!" Patel screamed at teammate Yoni David in the Asian Carp attack video.

Fortunately, none of the no rowers were seriously injured during the Asian Carp attack. It was only the strong smell of fish which lingered in the boat after the unexpected ordeal.

Apparently, the Asian Carp attack experienced by collegiate rowing team is normal behavior for the species, which are known for their unusual penchant for leaping out of water when frightened or startled. They are even known to injure boaters, leading to a number of entertaining videos of carp-on-human "attacks", with some people combining the fish's jumping ability with bowfishing for an exciting carp hunting extravaganza.
