'Battle of the Sexes' star Elizabeth Banks' number one fan is her husband, author-producer Max Handelman. Below are the top 5 things many people do not know about the actress' better half.

5. Elizabeth Banks' husband Max Handelman is an author, apart from being a successful movie producer. He co-wrote the book  'Why Fantasy Football Matters: (And Our Lives Do Not)' with Erik Barmack.

Additionally, he writes on the web as a blogger and he still has this close relationship with Barmach, such that they collaborated for a weblog entitled "Beyond Bowie," which basically covered the Portland Trail Blazers.

4. Handelman is of German Jewish origin. In fact, the beautiful 'Hunger Games' actress learned the conversion process to Judaism and even studied with rabbis following their marriage. In 2013, Banks even gushed about Judaism saying, "I did not have my mikveh, so technically I'm not converted. Frankly, because I'm already doing everything [practicing religious rituals], I feel like I'm as Jewish as I'm ever going to be."

3. Elizabeth Banks' husband met his future wife on the actress' first day at college way back on Sept. 6, 1992. Since then the two have been inseparable, so it was not surprising that the college sweethearts eventually tied the knot.

2. Handelman and Banks are parents to their two kids. Almost a decade after they got married in 2003, the lovely couple had their first child, baby boy Felix, in March 2011 with the help of surrogacy. In 2012, they once again engaged into surrogacy to sire their second child, another baby boy named Magnus Mitchell.

1. Handelman is married to the star of HBO's 'Battle of the Sexes.' Apparently, Elizabeth Banks has been cast alongside Paul Giamatti to play Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in the upcoming biopic 'Love & Mercy' and the remake of the 1973 tennis match, 'Battle of the Sexes.'
