Though this event of Robert Downey Jr. son arrested has now become highly publicized, the Daily Mail reports that this isn't the first time that the band member has gotten in trouble for drug abuse. In a National Enquirer report in October 2013, Indio had reportedly already been admitted to a rehab facility for prescription pill abuse.

Deborah Falconer, Indio's mother told the magazine at the time the problem was under control. She said, 'He was not addicted. He was taking one pill a day.'

Indio was born in September 1993 to mother Deborah Falconer and father Robert Downey Jr. Despite a promising future as the son of the world-renowned actor, Indio grew up amidst his father's struggle with marijuana, cocaine, heroin and prescription pills.

In 2001, Falconer and Downey split in after the now 48-year-old became frustrated with Downey's multiple trips to rehab and jail. Robert became sober in the early 2000s, said Daily Mail. It was also around that time he met future-wife Susan Levin, who was then producing his film Gothika.

In November 2003, Downey proposed to. However, Levin agreed to marry him only if the 49-year-old actor became sober for good. Ever since then, Downey has has made a great movie comeback with blockbuster films such as Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes and Tropic Thunder.

Before Robert Downey Jr. son arrested happened, Robert and Indio used to work together acting. In the film Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Indio appeared as a 12-year-old younger version of his father's character.

Robert Downey Jr. son arrested may not be long-lived after the 20-year-old was able to post bail immediately. However, this is also a red flag that Downey's son may be following his father's footsteps when it comes to his struggle with drug addiction in the 90s.
