‘House Of Cards’ Season 5: Major Death Will Happen, Underwoods Returns To Political Arena

The political drama "House of Cards" is now on season 5 and will soon air on the small screens on May 30, 2017. Here are some of the details of the new season of the Netflix show.

Aside from the teaser video released on January 20 showing the American flag with the audio of the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, the network has recently released images of Claire and Frank in the campaign trail.

All of the major stars are reprising their roles with the lead stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as Claire and Frank Underwood reprising their challenging roles according to Radio Times. Michael Kelly as Doug Stamper and Neve Campbell as the advisor are also returning.

New actors joined the series like "Pieces of April" and "Shutter Island" star Patricia Claskson, and "The Amazing Spiderman's" Campbell Scott.

The new season's plot was written before Donald Trump's entry into the White House. More paralleling or foreshadowing real life political activities will most likely happen in season 5. According to Stupid Dope, the new season will see the Underwood couple as political partners. This was teased in the season 5 first look. It is expected that the current political situation in the upcoming season is not covered as the script was finished before the 2016 elections.

According to show runner Melissa Gibson who took over the vacated seat of Beau Willimon who left after season 4, the battlefield for this season will be the American Psyche. The Underwood couple will return to the campaign trail this season as running mates.

The couple's race rivals are Will (Joel Kinnaman) and Hanna Conway (Dominique McElligott). Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly) and Leann Harvey (Neve Campbell) will vie for the chief adviser to the Presidential couple. Kelly hinted that a major death is bound to happen.
