"Clash Royale" players have been voicing their displeasure towards the Elite Barbarians claiming that they are too overpowered ever since they were released. Developer Supercell has been listening to these complaints and have now given the units a small nerf.
The new update has reduced the hitpoints and damage output of the Elite Barbarians by 4 percent. They did, however, give them a small increase to their hit speed from 1.4 seconds to 1.5 seconds. Based on the comments on the "Clash Royale" thread on Reddit, the nerf hasn't really affected the units in a significant way, but this still remains to be seen as the new update has only been out for a day.
The Zap spell has also been nerfed in the balance update as its damage has been reduced by 6 percent. Zap is a heavily favoured card in the game due to its low elixir cost and crowd control capabilities. The developers are hoping that this nerf will balance things out so other spells could become playable again.
The Electro Wizard also received a nerf as its spawn damage has been decreased by 6 percent. However, it has been given a 9 percent boost to its hitpoints meaning a fireball will no longer be enough to take out an Electro Wizard with full health.
The Mega Minion saw its damage output lowered down by four percent, but its hit speed has been increased from 1.4 to 1.5 seconds. It is one of the game's most commonly used cards as it is much stronger than normal Minions, but attacks slower. Archers have also been given a four percent reduction to their hitpoints, and Legendary card "The Log' has had its knockback effect reduced and damage output lowered down by 4 percent.
The Ice Golem, Ice Spirit, and Wizard have also been given some tweaks. The official Clash Royale website has a complete list of all the changes made in the latest balance update.
