Three Non-Superhero and Inspirational Films That Will Make Viewers Cry This Month

"Hidden Figures," "Patriots Day" and "A Monster Calls" inspiring movies that will be showing this month. Critics dubbed the "A Monster Calls" as "the year's best movie."

"Hidden Figures" is about the inspiring story of three black women who became the key for Astronaut John Glenn's journey to outer space. It focuses on the importance of African American women in the country's history.

The movie is based on true events and boast a star-studded cast  comprised of Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Kevin Costner. "Hidden Figures" will open in January 6, 2017, Cinema Blend reported.

Before Mark Wahlberg returns in "Transformers: Last Knight," fans can see him in "Patriots Day." According to the site, the movie is based on American heroism and sacrifices.

They explained that this will show the partnership of Mark Wahlberg and Director Peter Berg. Critics called it "gripping, relevant and absolutely perfect." "Patriots Day" opens on January 13, 2017.

"A Monster Calls" is a fantasy movie that is getting good reviews from critics. Flickfilosopher reported that it has a gorgeous animation that brought watercolor drawings to reality.

The site stressed that the movie is not a fantasy film that will convince viewers that the impossible can happen. It focuses on inner world fantasy that viewers have and how to deal with impossible emotions that humans have.

It is about a young bullied boy who has to come in to terms that his mother has a terminal illness. He managed to create a humungous plantlike monster to help him cope with his life.

It stars Lewis MacDougall from "Pan" and Felicity Jones from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Travelers Today reported that the new "Star Wars" movie can still be watched in theaters today. "A Monster Calls" opens in theaters on January 6, 2017.
