Pro-Gaming Team SKT's Ace, Faker Re-Signs Contract; Players Bengi And Duke Part Ways From The Team

South Korean professional gaming team SK Telecom T1, commonly known as "SKT" in the world of esports, have just announced recently that they re-signed Korean star player Lee Sang-Hyeok, also known as "Faker", for their competitive League of Legends team. Unfortunately, some of the old members have not re-signed their contracts, particularly Lee Ho-Seung, also known as the team's top laner "Duke", the jungler "Bengi", real name Bae Seong-Woong and coach Lee "PoohManDu" Jeong-Hyeon.

According to ESPN, SKT recently issued a letter about their current team's status, that states:
"I'm sure many people have been curious; we are sorry that we are late in announcing our 2017 roster. Just as we announced in the press release, we will continue to work with Faker, Bang, Wolf, Blank, Head Coach Choi and Coach Kkoma. We are sorry to announce that Bengi, who has been with us since 2013 as an older brother figure, our top laner Duke and Coach Poohmandu will be leaving us. We wish the best for their future and we cherish the days they spent with T1. We hope that you will continue to support us in 2017 as we continue to strive for the best. Thank you."

According to WWG, SK Telecom T1 also stated in their Twitter "Bengi, Duke and ManDu - even though you have left our team, we thank you and love you very much". Former-SKT member Bengi was one of the team's longtime players and has been the team's jungler throughout several championships.

Despite losing some of its core members, SKT still has the other roles covered. The jungle role will be taken by Kang "Blank" Sung-Gu, as replacement for Bengi. Bae "Bang" Jun-Sik will continue his role as the team's AD carry and the support role will be handled by Lee "Wolf" Jae-Wan, while the team's ace, Faker will continue his career as a midlaner. As of now, the player that will handle the top lane, Duke's previous role, is still open.
