The eighth instalment of the popular third-person adventure video game, “God of War”, will be published for the Playstation 4 console in 2017. It is a sequel to “God of War” III and will be based on Norse Mythology, unlike the previous games that were based on Greek Mythology.
Gameplay - The game has been remade from scratch and will be immensely different from its predecessors. In addition, “God of War” will only be a single player and the multiplayer feature will be excluded. Similar elements that are found in the previous instalments such as archery points and rage ability have made their way to the game. Moreover, there will be a significant change on the camera system where over the shoulder camera will be used, instead of the fixed cinematic camera used in its predecessors.
Character Development - Kratos, the main character of the “God of War” series, uses a magical battle axe instead of his signature weapon, double-chained blades, which he lost during the previous game. His new weapon has the ability to summon magic and has a deep bond with the protagonists. Likewise, there are some instances that Kratos’ son can be controlled during the game, which will help Kratos in exploration and combat throughout the game.
Plot - Accorind to gamenguide, the upcoming series “God of War” takes place in the mountains of Scandinavia where our main protagonist is seen raising a son, according to gamenguide. Kratos returns as the main character of the game and together with his son, must battle for survival while keeping his temper checked, and at the same time protecting and mentoring his son. Kratos and his son will encounter a myriad of gods and monsters, and do whatever it takes to stay alive. A new Villiain - Accoding to parentherald, the next instalment will feature a sinister villain known as the Midgard Serpent, a formidable creature that will give Kratos and his son a run for their lives. See trailer below for the new villain feature.
