Macaulay Culkin dead according to the news spreading in the internet but it turns out that the actor is just a victim of another celebrity death hoax.

Like any other celebrities in the business, the "Richie Rich" actor has been murdered but not for real as he became one of the victims of a celebrity death hoax. Reports saying that Macaulay Culkin dead due to some unclear reasons was first found as a post in the social media site, Facebook. The rumor of the actor's death was later on clarified by his representatives.

Many of Culkin's fans were deeply worried as the news of his death leaked. The Facebook page wherein the actor's passing was posted has eventually gained many likes that even reached up to one million. The said post was quite convincing that many people believed it. According to Media Mass, the post says:

"At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (April 20, 2014), our beloved actor Macaulay Culkin passed away. Macaulay Culkin was born on August 26, 1980 in New York. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page."

The news saying that Macaulay Culkin was dead on Sunday actually prompted many of the actor's supporters to express their thoughts and prayers. Condolences were already surfacing in the Facebook page that revealed his rumored death. However, there are also many people who doubted the credibility of the post since none of the existing American networks has reported about the said death.

To clear things out, a representative of the actor released a statement on April 21 confirming that Macaulay Culkin is still alive and well. The "Macaulay Culkin dead" was also described by the actor's fans as reckless and hurtful. Details about who spread the false news are not yet known.

Rumors saying that Macaulay Culkin dead last week may have been surfaced after issues concerning the actor's health were publicized. The actor who has been famous during his childhood years when he played the role of Kevin McCallister in the Home Alone films was reported to be abusing controlled substances though his reps denied the issue.

Culkin was also linked to actress Mila Kunis who is now pregnant and engaged to Ashton Kutcher. The two dated from 2002 until their split in 2010.
