Did they really split? Maybe not.

Power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones appeared together in public for the first time after their last year's reported separation.

Michael and Catherine snugged each other while walking at the red carpet premiere of Steven Soderbergh's Broadway debut at The Public Theater in New York. The two looked gorgeous in their matching black outfits: Catherine wore a plunging neckline dress while Michael simply wore a black open collar suit.

The multi-award winning couple, who married in 2000, attended the event to show support and admiration to their long-time friend and director, Soderbergh, who has worked with them in several films including the Douglas' recent Golden Globe winner, Behind the Candelabra. He wrote and directed the play, The Library which premiered on Tuesday.

The couple faced marriage troubles last year which Douglas confirmed with Jay Leno during his guesting at The Tonight Show. He said that they were taking a "little break" from their relationship and "re-evaluate" their marriage.

A hopeful Douglas clarified, however, that taking a little break does not mean that they are separated. "Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end," he told Leno.

The couple have already been spotted together for several months now but they would not confirm if they are really back on track, until their recent appearance that sparked rumors of rekindling of their relationship.

Diana Dill, Michael Douglas' mother, told Hello magazine that Catherine has moved back to their and that they are indeed working their relationship out. "Parents and children are living together as a family," Dill revealed in her March interview with the magazine.

Catherine has been under treatment for her mental issues since 2011 while Michael has recovered from his throat cancer (which he later admitted that it was tongue cancer) in 2009. They have two children, Dylan and Carys.
