Ford recalls 2014 affects nearly 435,000 vehicles due to corrosion issues.

After other car companies issued their recall, Ford has been quiet but not until Monday that they started to conduct recalls for their car models. Around 435,000 vehicles will be affected for the said recall due to corrosion issues. The rusting can potentially lead to separation of the control arm.

Being one of the largest car manufacturing companies, Ford intends to provide cars that are of best quality to its consumer. The Ford recalls 2014 aims to address problems with corrosion of the front sub frame which can also lead to more serious car problems and later on contribute to car accidents. The said sub frame carries vital parts which include engine, transmission, steering gear and the front suspension, brakes and wheels.

Furthermore, Ford recalls 2014 was done with an effort to fix the corrosion issues that can separate the control arm. It is a part of the car that tries to hold the wheel and tire in place. If this rusting issue is neglected, it can disrupt the proper steering function and would increase the chance of crash.

Among the car models included in the Ford recalls 2014 is the Ford Escapes from the 2001 to 2004 models. About 386,000 of the said car model are involved with the corrosion problems. The Escapes were built from October 22, 1999 through December 19, 2003 at the Kansas City Assembly plant, and from May 1, 2003 through January 23, 2004 at the Ohio Assembly plant.

The SUVs included in the Ford recalls 2014 are registered and sold in nearly 20 states and in the District of Columbia wherein salt that causes metal rusting is being used to de-ice roads. There are also six Canadian provinces that are included in the list.

The second of the largest recall by Ford involves 49,000 Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and C-MAX vehicles from 2013 and 2014 wherein dealers will be replacing seat back frames that weren't properly welded.
