"It was a chance of the lifetime to play her," says Nicole Kidman when asked what it like was to play the role of fashion icon and royalty, Grace Kelly.

The Moulin Rouge star and wife of country singer Keith Urban will star in the biopic of the late princess in the movie "Grace of Monaco."

Grace of Monaco will premiere in the Cannes Film Festival sometime this year after it was postponed last year due to creative differences.

Kidman says in her interview with the Associated Press how she admired the Princess of Monaco. "I think she has such otherworldly qualities. I think she has an aura about her," she explains.

She wished that she was able to capture her aura while filming the biopic. "I was honored to have the chance to." She tells AP.

'Grace of Monaco' features the fairytale life of the actress who left her career and chose love. It also tackled her struggles as a royalty and the disputes that her family faced.

Born Grace Patricia Kelly, she became an actress at 20 and starred in five lead roles which garnered her nominations from the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. She left acting at the age of 26 and married Prince Rainier. Grace Kelly is also the inspiration of the iconic Hermes bag that costs thousands of dollars for its classic style.

Kidman says that the movie incorporates only a six-month period of her life. "It's a fairytale. It's not a heavy drama," she clarifies.

Aside from the Cannes Film Festival, The Hours actress is also set to appear in "The Railway Man" with Colin Firth. She portrays the role of a loving and supportive wife to a World War II veteran husband who deals with his past as a prisoner. The movie will be on theaters on April 11.
