A new Hard Rock Hotel is opening in Palm Springs on October 4, according to a press release.

The new hotel will have 163 rooms in the property, which aims to cater to rock stars, celebrities and those who want to take a holiday as if they were one while out in the desert.

The hotel wants to attract a similar crowd to the nearby Coachella music festival, a large yearly music festival that takes place in Indio, California, and draws many people to an otherwise relatively unpopulated area.

Hard Rock International is working with Kittridge Hotel Management to transform the former Hotel Zoso into the new Hard Rock Hotel, which will be located in downtown Palm Springs.

The hotel will offer a VIP Rock Star Suite, as well as a full-service Rock spa, Body Rock workout facility, Rock Shop featuring the Hard Rock brand merchandise, and an open-kitchen restaurant. It will also feature a stylish lobby bar and an outdoor pool with a hot tub, poolside cabanas and a blazing pit fire.

Day or night poolside parties will also be hosted by the hotel, which will include live DJs spinning tracks with the San Jacinto Mountains visible in the background.

Palm Springs became known as the playground of the stars in the 1940s, when Hollywood made it trendy. The new hotel hopes to complement that reputation.

Palm springs also has celebrity tours that let visitors see the lifestyle of celebrities, with visits to the exclusive retreats that were used by Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis or Elvis Presley.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Hard Rock experience to our beautiful oasis in the desert," Mary Jo Ginther, the director of the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism, said. "The new Hard rock Palm Springs is an excellent complement to our world-famous Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals and will offer its own live entertainment to keep in tune with our musical roots, offering even more choice for our year round visitors."
