People have theme weddings all the time, though not many are like the wedding of Caylee Wasilenko and Cam Auge, who got married while water skiing, according to ABC News.

"We wanted to make it memorable even though we didn't want it to be traditional," Wasilenko, 33, of Vancouver, told ABC about her August 28 water wedding.

"We just wanted something for us," she said. "So we thought, 'Why not water ski?'"

That's just what the couple did, having a celebratory adventure in the water after exchanging vows.

Wearing a tuxedo and wedding gown, the couple went into the water right after saying "I Do," leading to Wasilenko, whose wet dress became a approximately 50 pound weight, falling into the water.

"We were going to start off at the dock without getting wet, but Cam was nervous about getting up, so I wasn't really trying to hold on," Wasilenko said. She wore a $1,600 dress that was borrowed from her younger sister.

"My mom's biggest thing was that I was going to drown in the dress because it's so heavy when it's wet," she said. "But I put the life jacket on my legs under the dress to make her more comfortable."

The couple was able to get up and try again, making a successful second try at water-skiing.

"People who know us aren't surprised," Wasilenko said. "We like to do crazy things."

The couple met on a swim team and started dating after a surfing trip. Wasilenko describes their whole relationship as being around water.

The couples dated for six years before getting married and have two daughters. The couple is traveling to France on September 2 for their honeymoon. They will bring their 11-month-old daughter to meet her father's side of the family for the first time, as they live abroad.

The couple are not the first to have a water-skiing wedding. The video below shows a couple in Scotland celebrating the same way.
