Waterloo Station, the busiest station in London, will be the destination for a special photography collection exhibition this week, according to a press release.

The exhibition, taken from a display called the Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition, has already toured train stations including Glasgow Central, King's Cross and Manchester Piccadilly. It will be displayed in Waterloo Station from August 10 until August 17.

The exhibit includes photographs of places that can be reached by train travel from the station, as well as images from around the country that have been included in previous exhibits.

The photographs are part of the Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition, which takes place at the National Theatre on the Southbank of London later in the year.

The photographer, Charlie Waite, is one of the world's leading landscape photographers. His style is considered unique because they convey an almost spiritual quality of serenity and calm. The photographs are held in private and corporate collections throughout the world, including numerous solo exhibitions at prestigious venues in the UK, Japan and the United States.

Waite has published over 30 books of his images and was recently featured in amateur Photographer Magazine's series Icons of Modern Photography.

"People don't just want their stations to be places they catch their trains from; they just want to shop, eat, drink and enjoy their surroundings," David Biggs, the director of commercial property for Network Rail, said. "Our stations are natural exhibition spaces so extending our partnership with Take-a-view to bring amazing photography to Waterloo seemed a natural fit.

"We also hope that passengers will be inspired to visit the fantastic places they can reach by rail and record their own amazing views with their camera," Biggs continued.

As part of the exhibit, there will be different retailer activities on each day, including promotions, sampling and voucher giveaways.
