Prince William and Kate Middleton came out of St. Mary's Hospital today  showcasing their newborn son.  ABC News reported that she stepped outside holding her baby son wearing a pale, baby blue dress with white polka dots.

Glamour UK reported that the dress was from designer Jenny Packham. 31 years ago, Princess Diana emerged from the same hospital holding her son Prince William also wearing a flow dress with white polka dots.

The baby was born yesterday and was 8 pounds and 6 ounces. They have not yet announced what the baby's name will be. William said to the crowd according to ABC News, "He's got a good pair of lungs. That's for sure," and that " He's a big boy. He's quite heavy. We're still working on a name, so we'll have that as soon as we can."

"It's the first time we've seen him, really, so we're having a proper chance to catch up," a smiling William added.

Kate said that "It's very emotional" and that "It's such a special time. I think any parent will know what this feeling feels like."

William also joked about the baby's hair and said, "He's got way more than me, thank God."

Before the couple went back into the hospital Prince William said, "I will remind him of his tardiness when he's a little older because I know how long you've all been standing out here. I hope you guys can get back to normal now and we can look after him."

The couple then left the hospital minutes later and drove off. For weeks the media has been waiting for the baby's arrival which was said to be sometime in July but no explicit date was said.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son will travel home to Kensington Palace," a statement from Kensington Palace said. "Their Royal Highnesses would like to reiterate their thanks to the hospital for the care and treatment they have all received."
