National Hot Dog Day 2013: Best Hot Dog Restaurants in the US According to Urbanspoon

It's National Hot Dog Day 2013! On July 23, foodies across the country will be enjoying the summer favorite. To help people find the perfect hot dog, Urbanspoon, a mobile restaurant discovery application and reservation management system, released their list of the Top 40 Fantastic Franks restaurants list for 2013.

Urbanspoon's list includes 40 of the most popular hot dog restaurants in the United States. The restaurants, which have wild and classic dog dogs, are located in 31 cities across the country.

The list was determined based on the restaurants with the most positive reviews from professional food critics, bloggers, and the Urbanspoon community of diners. It also features top choices from the editorial staff.

Urbanspoon recommends Sammy's Wild Game Grill in Houston, Texas for exotic meat hot dogs like antelope or ostrich, odd toppings like poached egg of kimchi at Senate in Cincinatti, Ohio, or Hot Doug's in Chicago, IL for a foie gras hot dog. Then there are the classics like Gray's Papaya in New York City and Pink's Hot Dogs in Los Angeles.
