A theme park in Guilin, China is giving away discounts to women who wear short skirts. CNN reported that Guilin Merryland Theme park has launched a summer campaign which is called "Love Miniskirt."

The campaign encourages female visitors to wear skirts shorter than 38 centimeters to receive half price park admission.

Prices for a normal day ticket are US$17.3. At the park staff will measure the skirts of those who wish to participate and according to their rules and regulations the participants must be at least 18 years old.

"The special price for women who dare to bare is RMB 55, the same admission price for Chinese soldiers, disabled visitors, senior citizens and children under 1.4 meters," reported CNN.

The miniskirt promotion first launched in 2007 and has been an ongoing campaign at the park.

"The stipulation aims to encourage female visitors to showcase their beauty in summer," park deputy manager Li Wenxing said to Shanghai Daily.

There has been some negative feedback about the campaign but Li added to Shanghai Daily that the complaints are getting smaller every year.

A female tourist said to Hebei Satellite TV, "I think I can accept this [offer]. We're university students, [this deal] allows us to play during school break with less money."

Another female visitor agreed with the sentiment and said to Rocket News, "The half-price admission is great for students like me, " says one female visitor. "They're not forcing women to wear miniskirts, right? If you don't like miniskirts, then don't wear them."

But not everyone loves the  "Love Miniskirt" campaign. Rocket News reported that some have complained that it is sexist, vulgar and "could put women in danger."

"If women can enjoy discounts for showing [their bodies], then can they enter the park for free by going totally naked?" asked netizen Song Xiangping on the blog gmw.cn.
