Hollywood celebrities and regular people alike use Las Vegas as a place to unwind and party, an escape from their everyday lives.  More recently, celebrities also use the city as a place to host parties.

USA Today and Las Vegas Journal-Review found the best places in Las Vegas to spot stars:

1OAK at the Mirage Resort

Kim Kardashian hosted New Year's Eve at this resort. Other stars often spotted partying here include Leonardo DiCaprio, John Legend, Maria Menounos and Paris Hilton, who celebrated turning 32 here.

Andrea's at Encore Las Vegas

This restaurant serves Asian-fusion food and is named for owner Steve Wynn's second wife. Frequent diners include George Clooney and Lady Gaga. The grand opening celebration, held in January, brought out George Clooney (again) and his girlfriend Stacy Keibler, as well as Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton.

The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace

While shopping for designer brands at the shops, you might see Michael Jordan, Faith Hill, Nicolas Cage, James Gandolfini, Kelsey Grammer, maybe even Bill Clinton. Sometimes the stores close so VIP guests can have privacy while they shop, a service Michael Jackson was known for taking advantage of. Nearby, the Las Vegas location of Wolfgang Puck's Spago restaurant also attracts many famous names.

Hyde Bellagio

The new Las Vegas location of this popular Los Angeles nightclub is a popular place for celebrities. Jennifer Lopez launched her single with a celebration at the club and Michael Phelps has acted as DJ. The opening of the club, which overlooks the Bellagio fountains, brought out Sofia Vergara.

LAVO at the Palazzo Resort

This is an Italian restaurant and club that is popular with Rihanna, Jay-Z and Fergie. It is also where Kris Humphries had his bachelor party before his now infamous wedding to Kim Kardashian.

Marquee Nightclub & Day club at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

This club has a pool party club during the day, making it a fun place to hang out even without any famous faces. However, that is unlikely to be a problem, as the club draws many celebrities. For its opening celebration, an impressive list of stars turned up, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rihanna, Kanye West, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively and Channing Tatum. Since then, more stars have partied at the club, including Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana.

TAO Nightclub & Asian Bistro in the Venetian

This restaurant has drawn Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera and Kim Kardashian.

WET REPUBLIC at MGM Grand Resort

This pool club often hires celebrity hosts, and just last year alone the hosts included Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian. Prince Harry also hangs out here.

Wolfgang Puck's CUT Steakhouse at the Palazzo Resort

This restaurant draws some of the more established stars, and is popular with Bruce Springsteen and Tom Hanks.
