It isn't a goose with a golden egg, but it is still amazing--a chicken in Guizhou, Southwest China, laid a giant egg containing two yolks as well as another perfectly formed egg inside, stunning villagers in one Chinese village.

The egg was three times the size of a normal-sized egg and weighed about half a pound, according to HollywoodGossip.com.

The hen's owner, Ms. Yang, told New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), "I'm more than 80 now, but I've never seen eggs like this before."

Due to Yang feeding the hen rice instead of corn, many felt that was the caouse, but not so fast.

A comment on the NTDTV YouTube video of the eggs expresses doubt that rice was responsible for the giant eggs: "I'm thinking radiation or chemical pollutants, or other environmental causes. Scientists should take blood samples and do genetic study of this hen to find out what's wrong with her."

Yang's hen wasn't the only one laying enormous eggs, on Tuesday, a man named Jeremy Power, of Cheltenham, England, announced that his hen laid an giant egg over the weekend. Named rainbow, Power's hen popped out an egg that is twice the size of a typical chicken egg, reported Examiner.

"Sadly it's not a world record, ours comes in at about 130g (4.6oz) whereas there are eggs on record of 160g (5.6oz)," he said, according to the BBC. "It's all a bit of a dodgy world really in that there's no one to actually authenticate the weight of an egg."

"Typically, a chicken egg weighs about 2 ounces. So the egg that Rainbow produced was so large, it was over double in size," according to Examiner.

"It's all a bit of a dodgy world really in that there's no one to actually authenticate the weight of an egg," said Powers to the BBC.
