KinectAir offers affordable private airplane trips starting at $111, rivaling commercial economy fares. Like Uber for aviation, the service uses AI to find the best deals on "empty leg" repositioning flights. It promises a new era of private flying, accessible to more people without hidden costs.

Affordable Private Airplane Trips Now a Reality with KinectAir

KinectAir has introduced a new way of traveling by offering private airplane trips that are sometimes cheaper than commercial economy flights. This breakthrough in private aviation aims to make luxury flying more accessible to a broader audience. With prices beginning at around $111 per person, these private flights are redefining air travel.

Founded in 2019 for Pacific Northwest air travel, KinectAir now allows users across the US to book private flights. According to CNN, the company uses AI software to sift through options, finding affordable trips for customers. They focus on turbo-prop and piston-engine aircraft, which are more economical than jets. This approach significantly reduces the cost of private airplane trips.

KinectAir's strategy includes offering "empty leg" flights, where planes are repositioned and can carry passengers at a reduced cost. These flights can be up to 75% cheaper than standard private airplane trips. Most of these deals are for last-minute bookings, providing a cost-effective solution for spontaneous travelers.

With KinectAir, customers are assured of the price they see without additional fees. Unlike other services, KinectAir does not require membership or transaction fees. The company ensures transparency in pricing, a significant shift from traditional private flight booking methods.

KinectAir also addresses environmental concerns by using more fuel-efficient aircraft and aiming to fill empty flights. This approach contributes to more sustainable private airplane trips, aligning with the growing demand for eco-friendly travel options.

Affordable Private Airplane Trips Rival Economy Prices

Co-CEO Katie Buss, a former U.S. military pilot, explained that the goal is to alter perceptions of short flights, which are often seen as exclusive to the ultra-wealthy. With prices starting as low as $111 per person for a 48-minute trip, KinectAir aims to make private airplane trips an accessible option for more people.

This initiative is part of KinectAir's broader mission to democratize private air travel, similar to how Uber transformed taxi services, as reported by Travel Pulse

Meanwhile, CNN's research showed that the lowest one-way direct flight from Phoenix to Palm Springs costs $300, departing from Sky Harbor International on Dec. 14. This price includes a free seat but excludes a $30 charge for checked luggage. In comparison, a one-way first-class ticket on the same route is priced at $425, almost twice KinectAir's empty-leg flight cost.

Alternatively, a flight with Sun Country Airlines for $264 was available, but this option involves a 40-hour trip with a layover in Minneapolis.

One of the perks of private flying is avoiding the long check-in lines and TSA security checks.

A different online travel agent offered the lowest price for a private flight from Phoenix to Palm Springs at $3,198 for a five-seat aircraft, amounting to $639.60 per person.

JSX, a semi-private airline operating from private air terminals and offering individual seats, does not provide service on this route. However, for a similar distance from Phoenix to Las Vegas, their prices begin at $249 per person.
