With the "Tournament of Power" nearing its start in "Dragon Ball Super," and Goku about to complete the team's fighters, fans are wondering why Master Roshi is a member of Team Goku. The show's producer said that Master Roshi is actually strong and fans will enjoy watching his fights.

According to a report from ComicBook, producer Hiroyuki Sakurada addressed the issue during an interview with Mantan Web. He said that "the Turtle Sennin is strong and is asked if Master Roshi's strength "not like Kame or Krillin's unique success?"

People were surprised at the inclusion of Master Roshi in the tournament of power, considering that Goku was tasked to recruit powerful fighters. Krillin's usefulness as a tactician was already seen when he defeated Gohan and gave Goku some problems in a practice fight, so what could Master Roshi contribute?

Well aside from being strong, Sakurada said that the "Tournament of Power" will have different "activity centers" on the battlefield that will suit several fighters more than others, hinting that Master Roshi will likely have an advantage in several situations. He adds that, even if the Turtle Sennin was unable to keep up with everyone in terms of power, fans will still be able to enjoy his fights.

Blasting News reports that the producer revealed it was actually creator Akira Toriyama's idea to include Master Roshi in the "Universal Survival" Arc. This hints that the creator likely has some plans for the Turtle Sennin during the arc.

What those plans are, though, is still unknown at this point. "Dragon Ball Super" is still currently in the phase of the different universes completing their 10 member team. So there are no details yet on how Toriyama plans to use Master Roshi during the "Tournament of Power."

The next episode of "Dragon Ball Super," to be released on April 30, is titled "Gohan and Piccolo - Teacher and Pupil Clash in Max Training," which will show the two characters training to prepare for the "Tournament of Power."
