"The Walking Dead" Season 8 was renewed few days before the finale aired. The most anticipated finale of Season 7 has wrapped up on an interesting note. It has announced the beginning of a big war in the new season between Rick Grimes and Negan.

The finale has also witnessed Sasha turning into a walker who eventually died and the thrilling entry of Shiva, The Tiger and his attack on Negan, (that was just in time) as the latter prepares to slash his Lucille on Carl. All these elements made the finale entertaining to watch.

On the other hand, the previous season finale titled, "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life" did not witness a major death (except for Sasha). But the premiere has seen Negan slashing his Lucille on Glenn and Abraham. And for the new season, based on the knowledge of Robert Kirkman's comic, a few major characters death is something fans should be worried about, reported Comicbook. Will it be Rick or Negan?

Kirkman has repeatedly said about killing Rick "eventually." And in the comics, Negan survives the war, as per aforementioned source. Considering the rating factor and how the comics have treated these characters, Negan and Rick will meet its fate in the big war.

The exact premiere date of Season 8 has not been revealed by the AMC network. But looking at the pattern for last seven seasons, the apocalypse drama might premiere in October 2017. But, recently Hollywood writers have authorized their union leadership to potentially call up a strike, reported Entertainment Weekly.

This move has a potential to affect the production of "The Walking Dead" Season 8. The current contract of the Writers Guild of America expires on May 1. And this is the same day when Season 8 starts its production. As per the aforementioned source, if the premiere of the new season is pushed back, then it can affect the popularity of the show. In addition, the previous season has also witnessed a slip in the ratings. Therefore, the possibility of a delay in the premiere cannot be ignored.
