Scott Derrickson, the director behind super hit film "Doctor Strange" has been roped in to direct an ambitious Hulu project. "Locke & Key," the award-winning horror comic book series, is adapted to TV series on the Hulu streaming service.

Derrickson is the master who has helmed several popular horror film projects. Such as "Sinister," "The Exorcism of Emily Rose," "Deliver Us From Evil" and others. Therefore, directing "Locke & Key" on the small screen might be a challenging task for him. In addition, he is expected to stay with the show for the first season and also direct multiple episodes, reported Deadline.

The story of "Locke & Key" follows the life of three siblings. They move to their ancestral house in Maine after the brutal murder of their father. Upon exploring the place they find out a secret. That is, the ancestral house has magical keys. This gives them a variety of powers and abilities, as per aforementioned source.

But there is a twist in the plot. The siblings find out that there is a demon that is attracted to these keys and wants to have them for their own benefits. What will the demon do to get the magical keys and will there be killings to have them? All this and more will be revealed when the series airs on Hulu.

This is not the first time a popular comic series has received a TV adaptation. "Riverdale" is a TV show on CW network. It is based on the characters by "Archie Comics." Meanwhile, the cast for "Locke & Key" has not been announced yet. It will be interesting to see which actor gets roped in to play the characters of three siblings.

An hour-long pilot adaptation of the horror comic has Carlton Cuse as the executive producer who developed the pilot episode. Originally, this popular comic book series is written by Joe Hill and illustrated by artist Gabriel Rodriguez. Hill has written the script for the anticipated enthralling series, reported Engadget.
