Earlier this month, "Rick and Morty" season 3 aired their first episode. The debut episode made fans petition McDonald's to reintroduce its limited edition Szechuan sauce. And just recently, eBay has sold this popular sauce for almost $15,000.

It can be recalled that McDonald first launched the Szechuan sauce in 1998. It was a short-lived promotion in line with Disney movie "Mulan." When "Rick and Morty" season 3 aired its episode 1 and mentioned about this popular sauce, fans started to file their signed petition to this popular fast-food chain, NME reported.

According to their records, there were about 33,000 fans who signed for a request urging McDonald's to bring back their limited-edition but most-coveted kind of sauce. Hence, McDonald's also responded to the fans request through Twitter and some fans got dismayed. Surprisingly, last week, a packet of Szechuan sauce was sold on eBay after getting an average of 187 bids.

Apparently, the sauce became popular in an instant when Rick revealed during "The Richshank Redemption" that he has a mission and one of which is to bring back the McDonald's limited edition sauce for the upcoming nine seasons, Independent reported. Such episode prompted fans to crave for the sauce especially because the live-action version of "Mulan" is also coming really soon by 2018. It can be recalled that said sauce was released during the debut of "Mulan" in 1998.

The seller who is from Ipswich, also revealed that he found the sauce packet on the recently purchased old car. After he watched the latest episode from "Rick and Morty" season 3, he started searching online to see if that was worth of anything, and perhaps, it turns out that it was. According to the seller, the Szechuan packet also came with a wasabi sauce with it.

Meanwhile, McDonald's also made some response to their followers on Twitter by posting one of Rick's popular line "Wubba lubba dub dub." After creating a buzz with the McDonald's sauce, what's coming next in "Rick and Morty" Season 3? Stay tuned to catch for more updates.
