Sources confirm that "Wynonna Earp" season 2 will be back by June of this year. The series has been filming since December and is expected to finish filming by April.

Den of Geek reports that the second season will have 12 episodes, which is less than last season's, but it's still one more than what was originally reported.

The show has enjoyed a cult following since its release. Emily Andras, who is the showrunner, says that for those who have not yet watched the first season, they can now do so through Netflix. It will be streamed starting April, which gives new fans of the show plenty of time to catch up with the storyline.

Andreas has expressed her joy upon learning of the show's season 2 renewal. She says she is happy to present a witty, female-led, kickass series that shows a rich world of the supernatural and mythology.

"Wynonna Earp" is based on a comic book series of the same name created by Beau Smith. With the success of the series adaptation, it seems that there will be a new comic book series that will be produced.

Blastr reports that a new tie-in series will be created. It will be entitled "Wynonna Earp: Season Zero." It will be about the past of the titular character. Smith himself consulted with Andras to make sure that there is synchronicity with the comic and the series.

Smith emphasized though that it is not a prequel, rather, viewers of the series can actually refer to the comic book in order to answer some big questions they may have regarding the TV series. Some of those may be about Wynonna's time with The Banditos, the secret of the mysterious keys, and others.

The series will run for five issues and is perfect for those who are still anticipating "Wynonna Earp" season 2. It will be available by June.
