It has been just a little over year since "House of Cards" Season 4 ended, and now, after months of waiting, Season 5 is finally almost here. We have reported last month that the premiere will be on May 30, and expect the upcoming Season to be have an even darker theme.

The upcoming Season is reportedly going to be the most tragic yet. The show's original Twitter account shared a short video previously to announce the comeback of the show. But many fans noticed that the flag is positioned upside down. This is very foreboding, plus the fact that the video had a caption that says, "We make the terror" makes fans concerned about how Season 5 will go.

According to Blasting News, Season 4 finale showed President Frank Underwood has declared war with the ICO in a move that may get him re-elected and distract the Americans from his latest scandal, so expect the show to pick up from that premise.

Kevin Spacey will return as President Frank Underwood and Robin Wright as his wife and vice presidential candidate Claire. "House of Cards" Season 5 will also have new casts. Den of Geek said that Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott are set to appear in the new season. Their roles are kept under wraps, but many believe that Clarkson would make a great Frank Underwood adversary.

There are pictures that have been released showing Clarkson chatting with Claire in the Whitehouse while Scott is talking with Will Conway in the same picture. We can expect Clarkson and Scott's roles to bring major plot twist to the show.

The upcoming season will have 13 episodes, just like the previous ones. "House of Cards" Season 5 has new showrunners after Beau Willimon exited from showrunning duties. Season 3 senior writers Frank Pugliese and Melissa James will replace him.
