Looking for the best place to live in the States? Well, you might want to consider moving into Austin in Texas after it has been hailed by the U.S. News and World Report as the best place to live in America.

Every year, thousands of American are surveyed to figure out the top 100 places in America to live in. Factors include quality of life, value, job market, desirability and net migration. This year, Austin City bagged the first spot.

To complete the top five, the no. 2 spot went to Denver, followed by San Jose, California, Washington, D.C., and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Austin got number one spot because of its outstanding score of 7.8 out of 10.

"We celebrate what we're doing right to be ranked first, recognizing it also highlights the accompanying affordability, equity and mobility challenges that our city faces," said Austin Mayor Steve Adler in a statement. "Inherent in that ranking is the strength to manage growth so we can preserve Austin's special spirit."

Austin is commonly known as the live music capital of the world and its being more open-minded than other states. Aside from that, what makes Austin a desirable city to live is that it promotes high quality of life, but without the demanding cost of living.
