"House of Cards" Season 5 is about two months and two weeks away before it returns on television. Frankly speaking, it has been a while since this announcement wasn't confirmed by Netflix and finally, they did a confirmation through a video teaser.

According to Den of Geek, the upcoming season is indeed coming back but it is now under the management of a new showrunner. The political drama TV series still lets Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) get back in his business and with nothing else in mind but power. This is expected to continue for even more time regardless of the show's title.

The upcoming season has been rumored to be canceled at some point which has been debunked. The reason behind the rumor might be because Beau Willimon the series executive producer has left in January 2016. Willimon then focused on establishing a political action committee opposing President-Elect Donald Trump, which he actually did a few months after exiting his executive producer role in "House of Cards" in an irate manner.

On the other hand, as per The Hollywood Reporter, they have reported that some new casts will be joining the show. They mentioned that Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott will be featured on the upcoming fifth season of the series. Clarkson and Scott will be taking on major roles alongside Kevin Spacey who is the lead of the drama. However, there are no concrete details on their roles.

Lastly, the political drama TV series, the casting is just one of the few additions to the series for the new showrunners Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson. Both joined the staff as senior writers in season three and will be replacing Willimon's slot for the upcoming fifth season of the show.
