With only one episode to go before "This Is Us" officially closes its season 1. This week's proved to be emotional as viewers got a glimpse of what William wanted to happen after his death, and how one child of Jack feels responsible for his death.

Entertainment Weekly recaps the episode entitled "What Now?" It's a question that Randall is probably asking himself now that his biological father has passed away. He somewhat gets an answer when Beth hands him a letter from Willian, which is actually for his daughter, instructing them to throw him a celebration of life instead of a funeral.

Randall was assigned the task of giving the toast. But before that, the girls decide to recreate the perfect day for their grandfather. During the preparation, it becomes clear that Beth is just as affected by William's death. She was, after all, the one who was with him every day. Randall got to go on a trip with him, her children received a note, and she got nothing. But Randall was sweet enough to let her be the one to give the toast to his father so that she can honor him.

Kate gets emotional during the speech, remembering her own father Jack. She got comfort from Randall who followed her after she walked out.

Meanwhile, Vulture reports that Kevin also had to deal with issues of his own. He went to his play and although the critic did not return, his father and Sophie were there to support him.

In the past, Jack and Rebecca are still at odds over the things that are happening to them, and Kate points it out to her father. He realizes that his marriage is in trouble and tells Kate that he will fix it.

One of the highlights of the episode is Randall quitting his work after the company sends his pears even though he was deathly allergic to them. Kate also reveals that Jack died because of her.
