The "Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)" has now been certified by both Bluetooth SIG and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), MobiPicker reported. Popular tipster Evan Blass said that the phone is expected to be released on April 10, and it will be under different names.

Phone Arena said that Verizon will launch it as "Samsung Galaxy J7 V" while Tracfone will launch it as "Galaxy J7 Sky Pro." Other carriers like AT&T and U.S. Cellular are likely to offer device as well, but the names that they will use for the phone is currently unknown.

Documents from Wi-Fi Alliance show that the "Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)" will come with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box. The phone will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 CPU, the document also said.

However, the GFXBench listing shows that the phone will be powered by Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with an ARM Mali-T830 GPU. The Geekbench listing showed a model number SM-J727P with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. The rest of the specifications are identical, so this could mean that the device will come in two versions. Samsung is yet to confirm the specs.

The device will have a 2GB of RAM and a 16 GB of internal memory with a slot for a microSD expansion. The device is going to sport a 5.5-inch HD display with 1,280×720 pixel resolution. The camera of the "Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)" will be an 8 MP rear and 5 MP front shooters. The phone is reported to come in either black, white or gold, just like its predecessor.
