After a week-long hiatus, "This Is Us" will be back tonight. Episode 17 "What Now?" will show the aftermath of William's death. It can be recalled that the previous episode was heartbreaking because Randall's biological father William finally succumbed to cancer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tuesday's episode will pick up roughly a week after the heartbreaking loss and everyone is still in shock. Susan Kelechi Watson who plays Beth, Randall's wife, will have a hard time dealing with William's death. Watson said that her character has been in it with William day in and day out, and they had such a journey together.

William will no longer be in the show in the present timeline, but we will still see him via flashbacks. He will return in future intervals as well, as confirmed by showrunner Dan Fogelman.

Now, "This Is Us" episode 17 will show Randall trying to get started, and teasers show him packing up his dad's things, wondering how to help his father's legacy live on, E! News said. Beth is there to remind him that all he needs to do is be there for the funeral. Beth also notices a letter on the bed and told Randall that he may want to read it.

What's in the letter could help Randall feel a little better, fans speculate. But it could also be a letter that could bring in more tears. Meanwhile, the memorial is kept under wraps, but there are leaks saying that William left specific directions on how the memorial should go. Is that what's in the letter?

"This Is Us" episode 17 will also show Kevin going through with the opening night of his play. The original premiere date had to be canceled because he had to rush to Randall during the last episode. He will be faced with a huge task of convincing people that the play is not shut down.
