In light with her re-emergence into the spotlight, there have been a few rumblings in regard to what Angelina Jolie may be up to next in Hollywood. With a slew of possible projects, a potential reprisal of Disney's Maleficent for the character's sequel film is said to be the most plausible at this point in time.

Last week, Jolie had been in a couple of public sightings to promote her new film, "First They Killed My Father," in Cambodia with all of her kids behind her. Furthermore, she also sat down with some media outlets, including BBC wherein she commented on her recent split with Brad Pitt for the first time. Along with these public functions are various talks about whether she will continue pursuing her acting career or not.

In an exclusive new tip from The Hollywood Reporter, word has it that the actress is currently being wooed to come back to the "Maleficent" franchise for a potential direct sequel. The film, which came out in 2014, had the mother of six, playing the "Sleeping Beauty" villain. Instead of painting the character as solely bad, the narrative somehow explains how the anti-hero ended up being the aloof and snooty creature that she is more popularly known to be.

The report added that the "Maleficent" sequel is currently being actively developed by Disney. However, if history can be any indication, Jolie tends to lean towards doing standalone films except her recurring voice acting role in the "Kung Fu Panda" franchise. The 41-year-old has reportedly turned down supposed follow-ups to some of her blockbuster films like "Salt" and "Wanted."

A couple of other projects including two massive ones in collaboration with Universal Studios Join the "Maleficent" follow up in Jolie's next possible Hollywood project. Unfortunately, however, it seems like it would take quite some time before the high-profile actress decides on her next acting project given that her divorce with Pitt is still ongoing.
