It's official. "Black Lightning" has finally found it's star in the person of Cress Williams. The "Hart of Dixie"" actor will play the "Black Lightning", the main superhero of the same appellation.

The high-profile drama is an adaptation on Detective Comics (DC) character. The iconic character was originally intended to headline as a "Black Bomber" where it features a white person that tends to be racist and much like "Incredible Hulk", it would change its appearance under stress. The only difference is "Black Bomber" would turn into a black person whenever aggravated.

Comic historians criticize the original idea of the story. Tony Isabella, creator and editor of some of the Marvel Comics And DC superheroes, was able to convince other editors to use his "Black Lightning" character instead. And hence, the birth of the superhero "Black Lightning".

Cress Williams is signed in to play the African-American superhero, otherwise known as Jefferson Pierce, a regular teacher who had an alter ego known as the "Black Lightning". Much like "Superman", Pierce have kept his secret identity for years with no intention of going back playing the superhero. Not until his daughter was recruited by a local gang, Pierce will soon wear his hero suit again be the wanted vigilante, "Black Lightning".

The project will be lead by Greg Berlanti, an American filmmaker and also a television writer, who is dubbed as the "king of DC universe". The series is intended to be aired on Fox TV but was picked up by CW network - home of Berlanti's other DC tv series, "Arrow", "The Flash", "DC's Legend of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl".

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump tweeted, "Southside Metropolis is a real hellhole, worse than Sweden" on Friday. This is following the premise description from "Black Lightning"  released by CW network whom the President mistakenly thought as an actual news. He then warned to send in a federation if  "Black Lightning" doesn't handle "this problem with education and local gangs" soon.
