Being one of the young faces of sensible Hollywood, Emma Watson reveals that it was a conscious decision on her part to put a divide between her public and private life. And while the English thespian does own official social media accounts, there is a better and deeper reason for keeping them than just posting what she ate or wore during the day.

The actress, who is currently trotting all over the globe to promote her brand new film in Disney's live-adaptation of the classic tale of "Beauty and the Beast," sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about her approach on popularity. Being an actress since 1999 after being cast as Hermione Granger in the film iteration of the "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," Watson practically grew in the public eye.

"I really draw a super conscious line between what is public and what is private," she spilled. "That has kind of helped me maintain a certain degree of sanity because having people weigh in and give an opinion on absolutely everything about me would just destroy me as a human being. I would just be a shell of a human."

The actress further explains that in this day and age, a lot of people, especially young ones, post on social media just to keep up with the current trends. And, oftentimes, Watson feels that these posts give out an ideal kind of perspective, instead of capturing the unique genuineness of someone behind these accounts.

Watson's thoughts on social media do not make her a total skeptic. She owns an Instagram account where she often documents her humanitarian work to promote the causes that she believes in. In light of her ongoing press tour, the 26-year-old also recently created a new Instagram account where she posts the details of her various looks while on the promo trail.

There is an underlying advocacy in this new account with the username "the_press_tour." Via the account, Watson aims to promote sustainability in terms of sartorial choices only wearing brands that use recycled and organic materials.
