Not allowing to be defined by social norms, Oprah Winfrey shares that although she does not have any biological kids, she is perfectly happy with the life that she currently has. The award-winning host opens up about coping with the pressure from society to have her own children.

Being in the spotlight since 1983, Winfrey has been a household name for quite a long time. And being as a public personality has subjected her to some criticism all throughout the years. In a new sit-down interview with Good Housekeeping United Kingdom, the "Queen of All Media" reveals how she was able to get through all the scrutiny that she received in the past for choosing an unorthodox lifestyle.

"When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them, because I feel like I am a mother to the world's children," the media mogul explained to the media outlet. "Love knows no boundaries. It doesn't matter if a child came from your womb or if you found that person at age two, 10 or 20. If the love is real, the caring is pure and it comes from a good space, it works."

Right now, Winfrey is involved with countless charities all over the world who cater to various causes. The humanitarian also has her own Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa that has already been running for almost 10 years now. The boarding school is in charge of around 172 girls - 20 of which already in college in the United States and the host says that they are enough to keep her occupied. Furthermore, Winfrey also  reveals that helping and sponsoring her benefactors "has brought a light to my life that I can't explain."

Aside from not having any biological children, the 63-year-old has also remained unmarried. Way back in November 1992, long time Winfrey was supposed to tie the longtime partner, Stedman Graham. The wedding ceremony, unfortunately, did not push through, but they continued to be together, nevertheless.
