President Donald Trump will not be watching this year's Oscars according to administration's Press Secretary Sean Spicer. But the 45-year-old White House employee clarifies that it has nothing to do with the administration not really getting along with a lot of A-listers. Instead, he reasons out that it is because the billionaire turned politician will be busy hosting this year's Governor Ball in the White House.

It is no secret that the Trump administration does not necessarily bode well with the majority of Hollywood. From the campaign trail, when a lot of the A-lister's openly sided with last year's Democratic Presidential Nominee, Hillary Clinton, to his Inauguration where a lot of acts declined his invitation to perform for him, up until now, the two separate entities just do not seem to get along.

So it was not much of a shocker when Spicer confirmed to a handful of reporters during his most recent press briefing that Trump will not be tuning in when the 89th Academy Awards takes place this Sunday. "I think Hollywood is known for being rather far to the left in its opinions, and I've got to be honest with you, I think the president will be hosting the Governors' Ball that night," Spicer said. "The first lady's put a lot of time into this event, welcoming our nation's governors to the Capital, and I have a feeling that that's where the president and the first lady are going to be focused on Sunday night."

It is not like Trump never watched the annual Oscars or any other Award Ceremonies. In fact, basing from his tweeting history, he had a penchant of tuning to the broadcasted event and live tweeting at the same time. Earlier this year, the 70-year-old lambasted decorated actress Meryl Streep via his official Twitter account calling her "overrated." This is after Streep delivered an impassioned emotional speech during last month's Golden Globes criticizing Trump's previous misogynistic actions.

The 89th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26. The show will be broadcasted live on the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST.
