Although no date has been set, "Mr. Robot" is expected to return to the USA Network for Season 3 this year. Despite the lack of details, interviews with the people behind the show have given us something to work with as to what to expect in the upcoming season.

The second season of "Mr. Robot" saw Elliot (Rami Malek) struggle with hallucinations of his manipulative imaginary father Edward (Christian Slater). In the same season, Edward had succeeded in wrongly infuencing Elliot's mind which is why Season 3 is anticipated to see Krista (Gloria Reuben) help her patient get rid of thoughts involving Edward.

Edward manipulated Elliot into thinking that he was Tyrell's (Martin Wallström) killer. However, Tyrell is very much still alive. He even managed to shoot Elliot in the chest before the end of "Mr. Robot" Season 2. This indicates that Edward can do whatever he wants to with Elliot.

Meanwhile, Krista's efforts to help Elliot banish Edward from his mind has still been unfruitful. This goes to show how Edward is evolving. Series creator Sam Esmail previously talked to Deadline about the development of Edward for "Mr. Robot" Season 3. Esmail used the word "disintegration" to describe what to expect from the character in the upcoming season.

Esmail continues to discuss how Elliot is going through different stages of depression every season. He states that the Mr. Robot character must reflect the stage of the disorder Elliot is in. Krista is expected to help Elliot battle his inner demons during these stages. It is expected that the court-appointed therapist will do everything she can to help Elliot in "Mr. Robot" Season 3.

There is still no news of an official release date for the third season of "Mr. Robot," but it is anticipated to come this year. What do you think will happen in the upcoming season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
