Sara Bareilles gets to sing her own "Waitress" song compositions on Broadway. Billboard reported the American singer-songwriter is now in talks with the production team to join the casts of musical movie adaption "Waitress". The milestone is Bareilles' acting debut, landing the lead role as Jenna Hunterson.

"What's Inside: Songs From the Waitress" is the fourth major album by Bareilles. The album was released in November 2015 six months before the musical hits the theater. The album released by Epic Records features songs from the musical including the lead single "She Used to be Mine". All the songs in the album were composed and arranged by Sara Bareilles for the production.

The "Waitress" lyricist will replace Jessie Mueller who has been in the production since 2016. Bareilles already met Mueller even before she joins the musical casts. The two were called in to audition for Shakespeare's "Into the Woods". The Park production had been eyeing Bareilles for the role of "Cinderella" back then. Nonetheless, Mueller landed the role.

Despite being adversaries in the past, the two remain friends over the years. In fact, both musical stars have been "inseparable" according to Playbill. They have been pictured in many photos and recently rehearsing together for the upcoming Broadway musical. However, Bareilles admits she won't be able to surpass Mueller's remarkable performance in the Broadway.
