Nick Cannon announced on his Facebook account on Monday that he is not returning for NBC's "America's Got Talent". This is following the threat of termination he received from the executive producers of the show over the alleged racial joke according to several reports.

Mariah Carey's ex-tells how he doesn't have any other choice but to leave "America's Got Talent". NBC executives brought up "breach of contract" over the joke that he made on his recent stand-up comedy show. Cannon believes he is being "silenced" for expounding truths and expressing his freedom of speech.

Earlier in Cannon's "Stand up, Don't Shoot" show, the rapper-comedian made several jokes about NBC. The rapper-host jokingly made a remark that NBC stands for "N****rs better come on". He also went on and further added how it is difficult for him to find the right words to use on the show as it might offend the network.

Report on TMZ claims that Cannon was initially confident at first. The AGT host jokingly said he will sue the network if they fire him for his statements and will create a controversy about NBC disfavoring black people.

The executives did engage in serious talks about axing him on America's Got Talent prior to the jokes he made. According to Cannon, this is not the first time the showrunners warned him about being on the chopping block. In the past, he has been cautioned for "speaking too many truths and being too loud about it".

Nick Cannon stated on his lengthy Facebook post that he is leaving the show for good, according to him he cannot work with a corporation that stands against his values and what he believes in. The rapper went on and wrote, "I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property. There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity. "
