Marriage is expensive so it needs to be unique, given effort to become special and magical. To add the three adjectives to any wedding is to add a few more thousand dollars. These five wedding destinations all over the world are great ways to guarantee one's wedding will be as magical as intended.

Churches are not the only locales for modern weddings -- beaches, upstate city centers and even hotels become the biggest venues for weddings. In Baltimore, an average wedding -- whether it be in a hotel or even a yacht -- will cost couples about $35,861, according to data by The Knot cited by Business Insider.

The Knot's survey indicates that California's San Diego is another expensive destination for weddings in the country with about $37,268 as estimated total costs for couples who wish to create a truly magical experience for themselves and everyone. Indeed, San Diego's upscale beaches are amazing wedding destinations for many -- and this has led to huge demand, pushing up prices.

In Europe, to be wed in the UK, one would spend about £24,000 ($30,052). Hotels can go as much as $400 a night for most couples intending their wedding to happen in the country. The Telegraph lists some of Europe's most expensive hotels, but it is surprising that UK weddings are cheaper than America... or is it? London once hosted a £700m ($1.3 billion) wedding of an oligarch son and featured celebrities as entertainment guests.

In the Maldives, couples may need to spend about $7,000 nightly if they plan to make their wedding on the One & Only Reethi Rah Resort, which is practically a private island. However, the possibility of customization is endless, which includes private dining and menu creation.

Perhaps Italy's Hotel Caruso in Ravello could be the most outrageously-priced wedding venue in the world today. The hotel is practically a historic palace centuries old and is indeed suitable for becoming a magical experience -- if couples are willing to spend more than $430,000 for its wedding package.
