David Beckham was denied a knighthood in 2013 due to his tax evasion issues according to Mirror. The report noted that the HM Revenue and Customs red flagged David due to his shady tax affairs.  Moreover, in a series of leaked emails, the football star player lambasted the Honours Committe, calling them "c***s." He allegedly remarked, "They r a bunch of c***s. I expected nothing less. Who decides on the honors [sic]?? It's a disgrace to be honest and if I was American I would have got something like this 10 years ago," as published on The Telegraph.

Meanwhile, the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) was bestowed on UNAIDS International Goodwill Victoria Beckham weeks ago for her charity work and contribution to the fashion industry, despite being involved in her husband's tax avoidance scheme. More than a decade ago, the couple invested on Ingenious' Inside Track Productions, LLP, which declared losses worth £1.6 billion. The Beckhams faced a tax avoidance dispute amounting to £434million.

However, the former Spice Girl member's accomplishment was not without a controversy. She was accused of "discrediting the honours system" for disclosing information about receiving an OBE. A source close to the Beckhams reportedly said that the fashion mogul was "delighted and humbled for the recognition. Victoria is incredibly proud of the fashion brand she has built and ever thankful for her amazing team."

In response, Tory MP Andrew Bridgen stated on MailOnline, "Nominees are sworn to secrecy, so she has broken the first rule of being offered the honour. It would appear to be a breach of protocol and perhaps raises questions over her suitability that she has leaked her own nomination. This further discredits our honours system."

As for David's current predicament, Victoria has not yet released a statement. The football legend is considering about enlisting the services of private investigators regarding the leaked emails and the hackers blackmailing his publicist.
