It has become quite a tradition that artists who won in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards make it to the Oscars, since actors vote for the winners. Usually, the winning streak starts from the Golden Globes and end with the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).

Among the nominees for the Best Actress category, experts have predicted a sure win for "La La Land" actress Emma Stone in the 89th Academy Awards. Her winning streak has begun when she bagged the Best Actress award in the Comedy/Musical category at the recently held Golden Globes. Her performance for the Damien Chazelle-helmed film was also recognized at the 23rd SAG Awards, winning over Natalie Portman ("Jackie"), Emily Blunt ("The Girl on the Train"), Meryl Streep ("Florence Foster Jenkins") and Amy Adams ("Arrival").

In a backstage interview at the SAG Awards, Stone managed to deliver a meaningful message toward the recently imposed travel ban by Donald Trump. "We have to speak up against injustice, and we have to kick some ass. We have to speak up," said the "La La Land" star.  She added that keeping mum only empowers the oppressor, not the victim. "Right now I hope that people seeing things that are being done that are unconstitutional and inhumane would say something. I would hope that people would fight for what's right, and what's just f**king human. What's f**cking human."

Meanwhile, the Oscar nominees for the category Actress in a Leading Role include Stone, Portman, Streep, Ruth Negga ("Loving") and Isabell Huppert ("Elle"). In a poll from Gold Derby, 17 out of 23 experts have forecast Stone's win in the upcoming Academy Awards, with six experts rooting for Portman and Huppert (three votes each).  In addition, Huppert also won the Best Actress award for the Drama category in the 74th Golden Globes, while Portman was recognized in the same category at the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards.

In 2014, Stone was previously nominated for an Oscar in the Actress in a Supporting Role category for "Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)." Some of her previous works include "The Help," "Easy A," "Crazy, Stupid, Love," "Magic in the Moonlight" and "The Amazing Spider-Man."

The 89th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
