Tom Brady of the New England Patriots already has four Super Bowl rings along with three MVP titles under his name, and the odds are in favor of the 39-year old quarterback bagging the Super Bowl 51 MVP crown. However, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is another formidable MVP candidate in the way of Brady's chase for the fourth MVP title.
The odds to win the Super Bowl 51 MVP are as follows: Tom Brady (+120), Matt Ryan (+200), Julio Jones (+900), Logan Ryan (+1000), Devonta Freeman (+2500). You can also check the full list at Odds Shark.
The quarterbacks from both teams are heavily favored to win the title for good a reason: 27 of the 51 MVP titles in Super Bowl history were won by quarterbacks. Subsequently, 7 of the last 10 Super Bowl MVPs were quarterbacks. The potential for a shootout is also very high with the over/under at 58.5.Obviously, betting on either Brady or Ryan would not be very rewarding.
Despite the dominance of quarterbacks in winning the Super Bowl MVP title, two of the last three winners were linebackers (Malcolm Smith in 2014, and Von Miller in 2016). For Tim Keeney of Heavy, Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley would be a decent bet if you are looking for high profit (+5000).
Aside from Beasley, there are several other long shots drawing big money at William Hill. There are $3,000 wagers on Levine Toilolo and Austin Hooper at 100-1, $1,000 on Brian Poole and Robert Alford at 300-1 and even a $1,000 bet on Falcons fullback Patrick DiMarco at 300-1, as per ESPN.
