Nicki Minaj is taking precautions after her Beverly Hills home was burglarized last week. Minaj was not at the Beverly Hills property she was renting when thieves came and stole jewelry and some more items that amounted to about $175,000.

It was early last week when the burglary happened. Unfortunately, there are no leads so far as TMZ reports that the only footage the police got of the incident was from the street cameras. This is the reason why Minaj is reportedly spending a small fortune on a new security system to ensure the safety of her home.

The new security will include cameras everywhere the 11,500 square foot property. The rapper will also be hiring security personnel to go over the sprawling grounds 24/7.

The property is located in a gated community in Beverly Hills. The nine-room mansion is being rented by Minaj. E! News reports that it was last summer when Minaj and then boyfriend Meek Mills moved into the house together. The couple broke up recently and Mills has apparently moved out of the mansion, he has not given any comment on the incident.

The site says that the rental listing for the sprawling mansion actually stated that the house had a security system and CCTV cameras installed in the property, so it is unclear why there are no better leads to the burglary. Reports say that the police think that the crime may have actually been done by someone who knows Minaj, and who has been to the property.

Aside from stealing jewelry and other items, the thieves also left the home completely trashed. This may seem that the attack was somewhat personal and whoever did it may have been holding a grudge against the artist, as the damage was done to pictures and clothes of Minaj.

It was not reported where she was during the home robbery, although just recently Nicki was photographed with once close pal Drake. They became estranged when Drake had a feud with Nicki's former beau Meek Mills.
