The popular TV icon, Mary Tyler Moore, the known beloved star of "The Dick Van Dyke Show" died on Wednesday in Connecticut as confirmed by her publicist. The actress died at the age of 80 years old. She has been known for being a good actress, producer and even a passionate advocate of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She will remembered being a woman of fearless vision who has turned the world into smile.

Mary Tyler Moore was born on December 29, 1936 in Brooklyn Heights. After having lived in Queens and Brooklyn, she and her family moved to California. She was the eldest among the three siblings and she has outlived her other siblings Elizabeth Moore who died from drug and alcohol while her brother John Hackett Moore died of cancer in 1992.

According to NY Times, her family confirmed that the actress died due to cardiopulmonary arrest after she had been contracted with pneumonia at Greenwich Hospital. The witty and graceful actress was known to be a great performer on two of the top rated television shows in 1960s and 1970s.

Moore will always be remembered being a vivacious brunette performer who has transformed women's image on television through her show. Her work in two series brought her five Emmy Awards where she also won another Emmy on her TV special "Stolen Babies", Variety reported.

She has been a powerhouse producer also through her MTM production company together with her estrange husband Grant Tinker. She also produce her own series entitled "The Bob Newhart Show" and as well as spinoff series of "Rhoda" and "Lou Grant".
